Job Summary
Anglo Singapore International School is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and visionary educational leader to serve as the Head of Student Development & Wellness. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the holistic development, wellbeing, pastoral care, leadership growth, future readiness, and pathway planning of students from Secondary 1 to Junior College 2.
The successful candidate will lead the Student Development & Wellness Department, providing strategic direction for student wellbeing, mentoring, student leadership, welfare support, experiential learning, university and career guidance, and future-readiness programmes. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who believes in developing confident, resilient, responsible, and future-ready young people through meaningful student support systems and developmental opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the Student Development & Wellness Department for students from Secondary 1 to Junior College 2.
Develop and implement programmes that promote student wellbeing, resilience, leadership, engagement, and personal growth.
Oversee mentoring, pastoral care, student welfare, and support services.
Lead student leadership initiatives, student voice programmes, and community engagement opportunities.
Coordinate major student events, milestone celebrations, and future-readiness programmes.
Oversee residential camps, experiential learning opportunities, educational visits, and internship programmes.
Provide strategic leadership for Educational and Career Guidance (ECG), university counselling, and pathway planning.
Support students and families with subject selection, academic planning, university applications, and career exploration.
Build partnerships with universities, industry professionals, and external organisations to enhance student opportunities.
Lead and manage the Student Development & Wellness Team while working collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, counsellors, parents, and external stakeholders.
Uphold safeguarding standards, student welfare policies, and the school's commitment to holistic education.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Education, Counselling, Psychology, Student Affairs, Educational Leadership, Career Guidance, or a related field.
Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, teaching licence, or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in student development, pastoral care, counselling, student affairs, university guidance, or educational leadership.
Previous leadership or management experience within a school environment.
Strong understanding of student wellbeing, safeguarding, mentoring, pastoral care, and student support systems.
Experience working with secondary-aged students in an international or independent school setting is highly desirable.
Experience in university counselling, pathway planning, or career guidance would be an advantage.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and leadership skills.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Remuneration
A competitive salary package will be offered, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The package includes a housing allowance and a return air ticket upon completion of contract for overseas applicants.
